About Gold-Filled Jewellery
We use gold-filled beads and findings in our handmade bracelets. With the elegance and beauty of gold, gold-filled jewelry offers a long-lasting alternative to solid gold. Made by bonding a thick layer of 14k gold to a brass base, these pieces are designed for everyday wear without tarnishing, providing timeless sophistication and durability.
Care Instructions
To keep your jewelry looking its best:
Avoid wearing it in treated water, such as pools or spas.
Limit exposure to chemicals like perfumes or cleaning products.
Clean gently with warm water and a soft cloth. For extra shine, use a jewelry polishing cloth.
Avoid over-polishing to preserve the longevity of your special piece.
Tarnish
Tarnish naturally occurs when metals react to air, chemicals, or skin acidity. This can be easily cleaned with a silver polishing cloth. For plated pieces, polish sparingly to maintain their finish. To minimize tarnishing, store your jewelry in dedicated storage boxes instead of shipping boxes, which are only meant for transit.
Cleaning products
Keep your jewellery tarnish-free and shiny with a polishing cloth.
Avoid frequent polishing of plated pieces, as it may cause the plating to wear over time. Harsh chemicals can also affect the color of your jewelry, so only use recommended cleaning products on solid metals like sterling silver or solid gold.
For best results, always check the product description for a full list of materials to ensure the proper care of your pieces.
jewellery storage
Avoid storing your jewellery in the packaging it comes in, as it’s meant for transport, not long-term use. To minimise oxidation, use a purpose-designed jewellery box.
Allegies
True Jewellery is free from lead and nickel.
While we ensure our pieces are safe to wear, we’re not responsible for any allergic reactions or skin sensitivities. We recommend checking the materials before purchasing.
Black discolouration on metals is a common result of skin acidity and can be easily removed with a jewellery polishing cloth.
